While Phat works on landing that record deal, he's gotta market himself the old fashioned way -- guerilla-style!!! Here's the first of what will be many appearances of PhatWood in the news.
Local rapper assaults fan

ATLANTA (AP)--A local rapper is under arrest this evening after allegedly assaulting a fan at a guest appearance.
DeAndre Way, who goes by the stage name Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, was signing autographs at the AT&T store on Camp Creek Parkway on Saturday when an unidentified fan approached him.
According to those at the event, Soulja Boy tried to initiate conversation with the fan, only to be interrupted by the fan yelling 'Yah" repeatedly.
Soulja Boy turned to sign autographs for another fan, only to have the unknown fan interrupt him each time he spoke by continuing to yell 'Yah" .
It was at this time that sources say that Soulja Boy ended the event. The fan followed Soulja Boy into the parking lot, reportedly yelling, "Yah, yah, yah!"
Police sources then allege that Soulja Boy turned and puched the fan. The fan fell and Soulja Boy jumped on and continued to punch him.
The fan continued to yell "Yah", at one point biting the fist of Soulja Boy as the rapper tried to punch the fan in the mouth to stop his yelling.
An associate of the fan then pulled him out of the melee and drove the two away before the police arrived. Sources at the event say that the fan yelled, "That's right! Fat wood reps these streets!" out the window of the car, a silver Lincoln Continental, as it drove away.
Soulja Boy was released on $10,000 bond three hours later.
